We’re five days into our 12 Days of Self-Love challenge! December tends to be a pretty chaotic month, and sometimes good habits can fall by the way-side, so I wanted to focus on self-care for the two weeks leading up to Christmas.
Because it’s the weekend, today the focus is on getting cozy with hygge. You’ve probably seen that word a lot lately, and for good reason. Hygge is the danish art of cozy, warm, and content. It was particularly popularized when Mark Wiking came out with the Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living. While I haven’t read the Little Book of Hygge, I did listen to this by the book podcast, where Jolenta and Kristin followed the “rules” of hygge for 2-weeks, and I was inspired to bring a little more cozy to my days this December.
According to the podcast, Hygge is all about wearing cozy clothes/sweaters, wool socks, making warming and nourishing food, lighting candles, and basically bringing an extra aspect of cozy to your life. So, my challenge for you today is to add a little more hygge to your day.
This week, I made this delicious vegan slow-cooker lentil recipe, and it definitely brought some extra cozy nourishment to my week.
Today’s affirmation: today I am at peace.
