Day 4 of 12 Days of Self-Love: Create a Morning Routine You Love

Today is Day 4 of our 12 Days of Self-Love, a mindful 12 days of focusing on self-love this holiday season. Today’s wellness challenge is to create a morning routine you love.

I have already seen tons of ides for New Year’s Resolutions making their way around the internet this year. Usually I dismiss these, but this PopSugar post caught my eye. The recommendation is to wake up 30 minutes early every day to create a morning routine. There are tons of ideas about how to make the most out of your morning, but I think the layout that most resonates with me is the idea of the Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod.

Basically, Hal recommends taking time for Silence (meditation/prayer), Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, and Journaling each morning.

My morning routine tends to vary a lot throughout the year, but often it looks something like this: hydrate (maybe in the form of warm water with lemon and apple cider vinegar), journal, go to an early yoga class or do an at-home workout, meditate, and eat breakfast. Maybe your morning routine looks a little bit different. Whatever it is, it should be a way to really fill yourself up first thing so you can better show up for the people around you throughout the day.

Today’s affirmation: I have enough. I do enough. I am enough.
