I want to share my current favorite face wash with you all because I have really sensitive skin. Whenever something works for me, I want to share it for others who might have trouble finding skin products that work.
In college, whenever I tried a new makeup or face wash, my skin would breakout and react for weeks. I went an entire year without wearing makeup because I knew I needed to rebalance my skin. Because of this, I am always interested in natural ways to care for my skin. When something works well for me, I know it must be good stuff.
This face wash is inspired by Ginger Garrett’s book Beauty Secrets of the Bible–which has lots of great natural skin care ideas like using honey and olive oil on your face. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin since using all of these ideas-it’s definitely a book worth checking out.
This is a homemade face wash made from rolled oats, dehydrated coconut milk, and flax seed. The flax seed is an option if you have dry skin, or just want to combat the dryness of winter.
The Best Homemade Face Wash
4 TBS Rolled Oats
3 TBS dehydrated coconut milk
1 tsp ground flax seed (optional–helps with dry skin because of the Omega 3 fats)
First add rolled oats to a blender, and blend until they form a flour. Next add the dehydrated coconut milk and flax seed and mix until everything is well combined. Pour into a small glass container. This should keep for about 3-4 weeks.
To use: Pour homemade face wash powder into hand and add water. Massage onto face, and rinse thoroughly.
