I’m feeling so excited for the week after teaching a great Sunday night yoga class, where all the students were filled with a whole lot of love. It was a beautiful reminder of how important it is to open yourself up to all the love and light the week has to offer, so that’s what I’m hoping to pass along to you all.
Three ways to up the love this week:
1). Take time for yourself.
Whether it’s to journal, to take a bath, to cook a really delicious meal, schedule time to do something you love every single day this week! It’s especially important to do this today… Monday is a great way to set the tone for a loving week! (Katie has a wonderful exercise for this in her new book!)
2). Pause between tasks.
We are all so busy, it’s easy to go quickly from one task to the next without actually acknowledging what happened. We do this in yoga a lot, pause in child’s pose to feel the effects of the previous pose. The same is important in life. If you eat a meal really fast, you may find yourself instantly reaching for something more because you didn’t take the time to feel the effects of the meal you just ate. The same is true if your busy going from work to your workout to spending time with a loved one. Be sure to acknowledge your accomplishments, and to get clear on what you’re really feeling.
3). Give to others.
One of the best quotes I’ve heard about this is, “If you’re feeling helpless, help someone.” If you need a way to add in a little love this week, do something to give to those around you. Building up others, volunteering, participating in random acts of kindness all of these are ways to not only make someone else’s day a little brighter, but also to brighten your own.
What are you planning to do to add in more love to your week? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
With so much love,
