Things I’m Loving Friday 6/19

I’m here to kick off my Friday with some gratitudes of things that have brightened up my week! I love this practice of both looking forward to the weekend ahead, while still reflecting on the awesome things that happened during the week. It’s a great way to boost your view of the past week, and to recognize what things light you up, that you may want to continue to incorporating into your daily life.

Without further ado, some things I’m loving this week:

1) The book Daring Greatly by Brené Brown

I bought this book to read on my flight to Rhode Island, and have continued to love it ever since. Brené goes deep into topics about vulnerability and shame, how to become shame resilient, and how to bring this practice into day-to-day life including work and home life. It’s so good, I couldn’t recommend this book enough!

2). Imbibe Skincare

Having been traveling this past month, I have been seriously missing my favorite face oil from Imbibe! I can’t wait to go and use it once I get home this weekend!

3). Allowing food I may not normally eat!

Specifically, not changing recipes and just allowing myself to have a treat. I always make cookies to be gluten free, sugar free, whatever, and this week I just made the Tollhouse cookie recipe with my boyfriend. This may have been something I felt really guilty about in the past, but it was empowering to eat in a state of allowance over restriction. To just enjoy the food, and let go of the stress and anxiety about it. This made the cookies taste so much better, as well!

4). Pink Smoothies

While it’s been great to add in and treat myself to foods I may not eat on a regular basis, it has also been great to incorporate smoothies in my eats again this week! Smoothies are forever one of my favorite meals, and a great way to get in extra greens!

The smoothie above’s recipe is:

1 banana

1-2 handfuls of frozen berries (more if you prefer thick smoothies like me!)

lots of spinach

milk of choice, enough to get everything moving/more if you like more liquid smoothies

Blend it all up and enjoy!

  1. I am a huge fan of Brene Brown. Her advice and ideas seem spot on! as for weekend plans, I’m hiking Mt. Tallac so I will be daring greatly!!! Cannot wait.
