Happy Tuesday!
Today I wanted to share a new aspect of my morning routine: NOT hitting the snooze.
So I’ve shared before that I wake up pretty early. Like 5 am early. I often set two alarms just in case so I’m sure I get up. Recently I got into the habit of hitting the snooze like every time my alarm goes off.
Then I watched a TED talk on Sunday that had me questioning this habit.
The speaker said something along the lines of, the very first decision of your day should not be “I want to go back to sleep” it should be “I’m ready to get up and LIVE”
So that’s what I’m doing the week. Making a conscious effort to be stoked to live each morning. Not hitting the snooze, and telling myself “no, I don’t want to go back to sleep. I want to live fully”
starting my day like this really has created a huge shift just these past few days, so it is something I want to continue to remind myself of each day.
I don’t want to hit the snooze in life, I want to actively wake up and live it. This simple choice to start out my day by thinking my life is better than my dreams has reminded me that I am in charge of my life. I am deciding how I want to spend my time and how I want to feel.
Not hitting the snooze is a way of saying I’m ready and excited for life
How do you remind yourself to live life to the fullest?

Ashley
